About FOUST
Formed in Nashville in 2019 by frontman, guitarist, and songwriter Christopher Foust, the band emerged from the ashes of his previous project, Blackwater James. Rounding out the lineup are drummer Todd Schlosser (also from Blackwater James/ATG) and bassist/producer Chris Utley.
FOUST delivers raw, guitar-driven, soul-laced rock ’n’ roll, often compared to the likes of Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, SpaceHog, and The Cult. The band prides itself on its high-energy, unpredictable, and ‘ludicrous’ live performances…“everything a rock band should be”.
At the heart of FOUST is Chris Foust, a Nashville native with 20+ years as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist (classically trained with a 4+ octave range), songwriter, and producer. He honed his craft from early days in metal and retro-rock (ATG, Kennedy), to fronting southern-rock act Blackwater James (toured Europe, shared stages with Ratt, Queensryche, Tantric, and more). Following that, he transitioned through blues/soul residencies and country work with Chase Rice before launching FOUST.
The band debuted with the EP Revival in 2020 and followed with the single “Fashion” in 2021 and the EP ‘It’s a Vibe*’. They’ve earned praise for their crunchy riffs, soaring vocals, and unapologetic rock attitude, with reviews calling the lead single “The Fountain” “an exercise in kickassery”.
